Push Lok Fuel Hose ???
From a hydraulics supply company, I recently received a roll of what I thought/ordered was push-lok hose to be used on JIC Push-Lok barbs.
What I received was :
Thermoid (TM) VALUFLEX/6S 3/8" I.D. 300 PSI W.P. MADE IN USA
This hose has a reddish outer shell, with a black lining, and I can see two string plies; the thickness is about twice that of the better grade NAPA fuel-hose that I already had.
Nowhere on this hose does it mention "FUEL", or any other substance, for that matter.
I have used a few short sections, pushing them onto the JIC swivels, and all looks good.
I expected this stuff to actually say "PUSH-LOK" on it, like the black hose I got from Glacier Diesel.
Do I have some good fuel-hose, or should I get some from another source ??
Thanks.

I did some searching and found this :

: which tells me that what I have is some real good AIR and WATER hose, so long as NO OIL is in the mix: so......................., I guess some
gourd-head
at the warehouse just boxed me up the wrong stuff and now my project will be on hold until I can get things straightened out with them.
The stuff I was supposed to get actually is Push-Lock and is oil-resistant Nitrile(BTR) liner with a Neoprene Cover.
I had already installed a few sections of the wrong stuff, so I guess that time was a waste.

If I use the NAPA fuel-hose on the push-lock fittings, I will still need clamps, RIGHT ??
Thanks.

I think the term Pushlok is a Parker brand. Aeroquip and others produce the same type of 'push lock' hose. I would use a clamp if using normal NAPA fuel hose. My local hydraulic shop carries the Aeroquip version, which can also be bought from Summit, usually called 'socketless' hose. Good for about anything you want to push or pull through it.
It must be nice to actually have various shops that actually have useful stuff and know what one is talking about when in need of stuff, without having to resort to mail-order and wait for delivery.
I live in probably the most out of time, backwards, stingy, community in the whole nation, Alaska included.
Only the most generic cheapest things are available at highly marked up prices and old time parts-men and mechanics have no idea what one is meaning when stuff like JIC fittings and the like are mentioned.

If you use regular hose with a Push Lok fitting and a clamp the barbs will cut the liner of the hose and it will in time fail.
If you notice the barbs of the Push Lok fitting are sharp where the standard hose barb is radiused at the edges.

Also when you are using Push Lok hose be sure to seat the hose completely to the end of the fitting or it could blow off, It is not a Push Lok assembly unless it is properly seated.
So I have been told by my supplier.
I have a variety of Hydraulics Shops, Grainger's, Hose Man, and King Bolt all within 5 miles from my house.

I got my replacement hose on UPS today; they told me to just keep the air/water stuff and apologized for my inconvenience.
This hose says :
