i just put a new piston lift pump in my 89 non ic and now it struggles to start up but it is fine after it starts anyone have this problem thank

but i have good pressure after it starts is there any way to test for air leaks

 

Just double check all the connections you made when putting on the new pump. The LP outlet on mine took some patience to get it to quit leaking..... Once you're running, the piston LP flows enough that you won't see a pressure loss unless the leak is HUGE.

 

Pressurize the fuel tank, that will show leaks in the supply side. Only put 3-4 psi in there though.
