I think hes talking about the plate that goes over top of all the covers, see between #1 and #2 where it kinda looks like plastic that got too hot?

I see what he's talking about now. Warping that isnt too hard to do, as that part is only slightly thicker than a soda/beer can, and about as durable.

On closer observation- JDGnut is right about the grille. For some reason I was thinking it was a 90 . I'd bet a week's pay it has been wrecked somewhere along the way (just not necessarily reported to an insurance co, so Carfax comes back clean). THAT would explain the fenders and grille being different. I'll bet if one were to look closely, the core support would show some dents/ warping.

Those mirrors look like the ones I got off a Mid-80's RamCharger. I bet it has a lot of stuff of a RamCharger or Ram. Doors, Fenders, axle, interior, gauge cluster. Way too much work and money.

He's talking about the little plate that covers the rocker boxes DP :P Yea that's most definately a homebuilt truck. Which is fine and dandy and as long as someone built one right is awesome. But when you build it and try to pass it off as a factory truck then that's straight up lying!

Most definately a SRW rearend, has a complete 81-85 frontend on it(notice the skinner/smaller front bumper(86-90 had a fatter bumper,91-93 trucks usually had the fat bumper with the plastic molding on top) also the 81-85 grille but don't know about the radiator support had to be some fab work in getting the huge CTD radiator, condensor and I/C stuffed in there*scratches head* Then the wrong tailgate(should have the chrome DODGE piece that bolts onto the tailgate. I'm betting the cab and all the interior and such is 91 Cummins cause of the year model(ID tag inside door) has the correct cover for heater box, correct dash, door panels and what not. Ok I'm done

Looks like a decent truck...if it had the right rearend in it. Just don't like the fact that he's passing it off as a factory original truck

Alright all you detective-types...you missed the big old boat on this one...thought the VIN looked a little strange...run it @ carfax(you can do that w/o paying)...comes up a 1991 5.9 V8 TBI OHV ...kinda explains alot, doesn't it...also note the seller removed it from auction. Things that make you go 'Hmmmm.' Who's betting on the Cummins transplant into the gasser, and who's betting on the 91 gasser pickup dash/clip/title transplant into a paperwork problem/possibly wrecked Cummins truck? I vote the latter...

Mopar Kid- good catch on the tailgate- it should at least say "Cummins Turbo Diesel" under the RAM.

Perhaps the seller found one of those "born every minute" types.

well guys about the vin, I wouldn't be too quick to jump to that assumption, because Ebay/Carfax has always had issues with the vins coming up describing cummins trucks as v8's! I'm not saying this definitely IS NOT a transplant, but just that it is common to be mislabled a gasser.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that...probably because I've really only checked out my own cars(until now) and they were always accurate...I'll keep that in mind! Thanks!(secretly though, I think there's lots'a evidence pointing to some sort of shenanigans(?), don't you?)

WOW.... a lot things I didn't notice at first look-aside from the front end and tailgate. It didn't sell, the highest bid was $6,100. But hey, you can still own this thing for only $8950 as he still has it for sale locally!

I know this is an old post, I just ran across it. I am wondering if anyone remembers what the truck looks like? Is it black with a tan interior? The reason I ask is because it sounds like my old one that I built, and if the current owner has questions I can tell him anything he wants to know.
