After the Lift Pump and before the IP.
This is the area to have a gauge so to see what the lift pump is doing, Right?
I wouldn't mind being able to tap into the fuel line and install a simple pressure gauge right under the hood.
Has anybody ells done this?

Yes, sorta. You want it between the filter and the IP, that way if the filter starts to plug you can see it before you are stuck on the side of the road. The easiest way is with an 1/8" NPT tapped banjo bolt, you can get them from Geno's, Vulcan, and GDP and probably some other vendors too. They list them for 24 valve trucks, ours use the same bolt.

Mechanical gauge, with a ball-valve cut-off first, then a gauge "snubber", then the line run into the cab to the gauge.
Without the snubber, the needle will constantly bounce with the pump pulses and, besides being hard to read, will soon beat itself to death.
The ball cut-off valve is to shut off fuel flow, in the event that something comes un-glued.
For a stock-type diaphragm-pump, a 0-16 PSI gauge is ideal.
For the correct 3936320 piston-type pump, a 0-30 gauge is best.
Any pressure gauge will work; it need not specifically say FUEL on the gauge-face.
The one in my truck says WATER.
I want to get a big line kit for my dodge, which one do I need??? Will the 2nd gen 24v universal kit from Vulcan work??? Also what fittings do I need for a "big line" from the piston pump to the filter???
