Pre - bomb questions....

Just had a couple quick questions to clarify before I go ahead and order a couple parts. I am planning on ordering POD's and a 16cm housing. Currently I have stock downpipe to the back of the cab, then 5" stacks. My fuel screw has been adjusted, as well as the timing advanced, and the starwheel turned (although I dont think I did that right) My questions are: 1) How much will my egt's increase by putting these injectors in, and will new downpipe decrease the temperatures noticably? 2) Just as a general question, how do some of these trucks I hear "lope" at idle. Ive heard from some that it is caused by big injectors, and heard from others its because of the cam. Thanks alot for all the advice.
Brian

Not sure about a "lope", but you have two less cylinders firing at a given RPM, compared to other brands. Plus, the bore and stroke is greater, ie longer stroke, and a little deeper "drone" coming out of the exhaust.

Brian,

The downpipe will not make any major differences in your exhaust temps. Oh, it may contribute 25* or so, but not much more in my opinion.
If you went with a full 4" system, and had your manifold ported (or used the ATS 3 piece) you would likely have a 100*F temp improvement. The thing is, any new fuel going in will quickly chew away at that too...
The Lucas (POD's) will raise your temps from current levels. However, you can (if you want) ease your pump settings a bit and minimize those increases to some degree.
You don't mention what your temps are now, for example, on straight runs on the hwy, or on hills with/without load etc.

bob.
