Pop!!!

OK this has me stumped. I can feel a knock or a pop under my feet when im driving on uneven ground, like driving across ruts on a dirt road. I cant hear it necessarily but i can feel it. I first thought it was a busted shock or a shock with the bushing gone but theyre fine. Then i thought maybe a spring shackle but they seem fine. Everything seems to be in order. It seems like it might be stemming from the front left wheel. i crawled under and pulled and pushed on everything i could lay a hand on.... nothings loose. Its gotta be something, any hints??

It may be the rear spring eyes for the front leaf springs hitting the frame. My truck did something similar until I replace the front leaf springs.

Mine does that too. Even on the road when I turn a certain way. I'm suspecting worn spring bushings but also wonder if its not the cowl crack flexing?

Someone on here suggested that it may be the axle spring u bolts comin' loose. Tighten up the nuts down. I always keep an eye on Tread subjects of popping noises, and the common factor is that all complaints come from owners of 4 x 4 trucks.

Mine had worked the nut loose and the bolt backed out and wore about half way through There is a bushing inside the eye as well. you would have to pull the spring out to see it.

The one I've refered to in theis thread is located at the front of the front spring packs there is an upside down "u" shaped bracket on the frame that the springs go into with a bolt running through the bracket/springs.

I would suspect balljoints. Probably the upper ones.
