Thumbs up

I had no problem finding all the parts at Cummins located in San Leandro Calif. They had everything, including the spacer. All the same numbers.

This thread was helpful. The pics were very much needed in order for me to understand the carving needed etc.

I have my new piston pump installed in my truck now.

Best Regards,
Tom

Uh-Oh!

Me and Dave have been moving images around to make room for the starter rebuild thread. I guess we missed something.

Give Dave a chance to mess with it as I'm sure he can get it sorted out.

For the moment, go to the 1st Gen tech pics to see them there in my folder ~ https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ry.php?cat=522

There have been several questions regarding the thickness of the spacer plate. According to Alec, it is 3/16" thick. If you are handy with a torch and a drill press you can make one out of flat stock.

Arrow New Part Numbers

I just got back from the Cummins store.

There are some up-dated numbers for some parts of the piston-lift-pump project.

The pump, itself Old Number = 3936320
New Number = 4944714

Cover Plate Gaskets Old = 3931348
New = 3939258

Banjo Washers Old = 3918191
New = 3963983

So far, the spacer is still # 3914284

I didn't need the new hard-line, as I am running the fuel-lines differently.

These part numbers are good as of Friday, April 20, 2007.

Thanks for the measurements Wanna and for the write up BC! Gave me the motivation to get started on mine. There is a pump on Fleabay that I'm thinking bout purchasing, but it says it will replace 3936316 or fp916 does anyone know if this sound OK. Also one with a part # of 4988747, Thanks!

The pump number has been changed again. It is 4988751 as of October 08, 2008.

I must have gotten really ripped off or they severely jacked the price up as I payed $285 for this pump directly from cummins.

After taxes and the spacer/gaskets/fuel line and washers/fuel filter my bill was $425

Ouch! Thats alittle much, you could have almost done a AirDog100 kit for that price. Plus you would have got the other stuff aside from just a fuel pump. I think they gouged ya.
