Picked up my 1st Generation Diesel

Hi all,
Well, i have finally found it. I have been looking for a long time for a 93 SC 4X4 five speed. Was looking at Craigs list and saw it. Problem was I am working crazy hours right now and didnt have the time to pick it up. Called the guy up, told him my sad story. I also told him if he would save it for me I would give him $500 extra. He agreed and was also willing to me me half way to my house (2hours, thanks John). The truck only has 196,000 on her. Only have a couple of things to do soon...new steering box and some front end work. The truck is bone stock...white with Silver...perfect.

welcome!

Start an account on photobucket.com , upload the pictures to your account from your computer, when they are uploaded you will see the pictures in your account, then you can copy the "IMG" code under the picture, and paste that in a post on here, and the pic will show up

Sure the steering box is bad and doesn't just need adjusted?

Our 91 has 275k on it and the original steering box is fine. I just need to install the worn out steering coupler which is an $8 kit. I would bet yours most likely needs the same and not a box.

Thanks everyone. I am going to replace the steering shaft for sure and see what that does. Someone else has mentioned there is a way of getting rid of the rag joint. Must be a different kind of set up. Anyone have any info on that?

Well, Since Max will be down for a while, I thought I would try a 4x2.

It has got to ride smoooooooooooooooother then a 4x4 no?

That's the sales pitch to the wife anyway............

The bed is off of Max and I am searching for an aluminum guy that does not want me to pay for his kids' tuition with this repair.

Also, the rear frame has been cleaned and it will be painted by next week.

I am also going to paint the rear of the truck in the black Rhino-Liner stuff I used on the bottom 8" on both sides of the truck last year.
