Part # for Volkswagen Fuel Solenoid

I did not want to join the pull cable club yet so I went to a Import parts place and asked for a "Volkswagen fuel cutoff solenoid", and ill be darned, they pop up with one without any needed details of what car or engine . Its a bosh part and was only $56.38, compared to the one for a dodge that is $144.

Part Number for Volkswagen: Bosch 0330001040

Part Number for Dodge: Bosch 0330001015

PS: I tried grinding the plunger first.

Um, err, that was plan A...It failed, the chunk taken off went well down the side of the plunger, so no good...Plan B = new solenoid . I was sure to consult the all and knowing sticky first.

Mike, before you chunk the new solenoid, pull it back out and grind the plunger. Mine has worked well for a year and a half.

Hey wanna, I tried grinding it in 3 consecutive configurations, first as per the sticky post, then, a little more taper, then a lot of taper...for some reason it just would not kill the ol' gal. Im a fairly cheap individual, but after removing that thing four times I decided to just bite the bullet...I can remove the solenoid with my eyes shut though

Right, but you need to grind the new plunger or the pump will rip it up too.
