Painting my truck.
Painting my truck.
Hi All
Over the past month I have asked several question on painting and I received a lot of helpfull answers.
The more I thought about the job and the tools that I had to work with I decided to take the truck down to a fellow that has painted for me in the past.
So I gave the guy a call and made an appoitment with him to get an estmate. After looking it over, removing the minor dents and removing the paint down to bare metal where it was needed to be done and replacing the trim and bumpers.
I was quoted $1600.00. That was $200 less than the lowest quote and I knew what this guy would do from the past work, he got the job.
I stuck with the orginal factory colors as this is not a show truck just a working truck.
It should be done Thursday or Friday. I am anxious to see what it will look like.

I hope it turns out well, I have my truck apart for bodywork also.
mine has been off the road for a year now while I work on it part time.
I'm trying to give it a Limo quality paint job.
You should pull the headliner out and inspect the inside of the roof
for rust, this is a sore spot for these trucks.
Good luck

I got quoted $1800.00 for my truck, paint and a little bit of body work. But my truck has peeling primer, so the paint all has to come off.
At the moment I'm looking at wrapping my truck in cellophane, bcause I know the cellophane people and might be able to get it done for way cheaper than paint. I'll have that figured out within a month...
