Painting my truck

Ok fellows I am a little farther along in starting to prep the truck for painting.

Now does the side trim and the LE come off?

They look like they are stuck on with some adhesive. If so, where would you start looking for the adhesive to replace them with?

The trim around the wheel wells have some screws holding the trim in place. Is the wheel well trim also glued in place?

You guys have been a great help with my past questions, thanks.

And a great big thanks to Hippie.

3m makes 2 sided automotive tape for the trim and the wheel well openings are just screwed on. some of the 92-93s trim is stuck on 89-98 have clips
and with the age of the truck you will prolly break some if yours has clips

for the badging just take a thin flat blade screw drive and slide it behind the badging and gently pry it off.

I recently painted my truck ( pic in my gallery ). In addition to the previous post...If you have the full length body side moldings, most of it is held on with two way tape. The fender molding in front of the wheel has studs with the nuts on the inside of the fender. If it's an extended cab, the extension panel molding is also held on with nuts. Wheel well moldings are a combination of screws and studs which press into clips.

I bought a large roll of 3m two way tape as rebal has mentioned...works great!

Be extremely careful when removing your molding and fender flares. Most of the molding for my 92 was available new from the dealership but could not get the driver side front ofthe bed and pass side rear. I used a pudy knife to remove molding and flares just take your time and be careful. The fender flares are not available as well. Tops are held on with two sided tape, fastened on the inside with screws and there are some plastic clips that hold the outside profile to the fender. There hard to see. Jethrro
