Outside stack
Outside stack
Just thinkin here. Anyone have picts of a 92 or so with an outside the body stack? I can't put the stack in the bed do to toolbox and fifthwheel. I would also have to have the abiltiy to use a muffler at inspection time. Any ideas? Tryin to lower egt's when towing.
I have a 3" pipe from the turbo back with a turbo flow muffler. Would the stack make much difference? Also would it be so loud as to make it impractical. My wife is in the cab also ya know. LOL

I really haven't seen any but I tend to agree. I would think they would look to much out of place. Also the heat and possibility of gettng burnt might be a real problem.
Hey just askin
thanks

Stacks on the outside with a chrome air filter housings on each front fender. That is what I call a "Big rig starter kit".

Tacky, very tacky.
You might look into one of the 4 inch exhaust kits. I think you would like it better since your bed is so crowded. Don't forget to get the 4" down pipe too. My egt's lowered between 150 and 200 degrees F. loosing the three inch system.
A BHAF wouldn't hurt either.

Thanks. I really have no room in the bed. My tool box opens right against my safety rack behind the cab. I have a 90 gallon transfer tank and then the fifthwheel hitch. Like you said it's a bit crouded in there.
Since I have an exhaust brake I don't know if I can get a 4" downpipe. I'm kinda locked in here.
Wanadiesel is helping me tune the pump better to lower my egt's at low end. We may go with a compressor upgrade or change later. Like I said before I gotta tow with one eye on the pyro as it was set up. She has the power but the heat keeps me from using it.

I did these for a guy and I think they look good. They sound great and smoke perfectly even. Can hardly hear them with the windows up. But on a regular bed I dont like them. Its your truck though so do what you want. I have seen 2 1st gens pulling RV's with a single outside the bed.
I have always wondered about notching the front corner of the box side for a stack to allow for a tool box etc. There is some room there with the curve in the side of a first gen. I think stack out past that point looks silly to .

They only look good on regular cab flatbeds. And, what's with the funky cow catchers? There's a guy up in Libby, MT that makes them for a dealer in Ronan that are really substantial - hit a deer at 70 and just washed it down later - nothing got bent and it was $80 less than the cowboy (tublular) version.
