To stack, or not to stack...

I was wondering if any of my 3rd gen brothers, (and sisters) have installed stacks on their trucks yet. I love the looks of them, but I've never ridden in a truck with them. Are they too loud??? I need some opinions on this, as I am going to be upgrading my exaust soon. I did search previous posts about this but didn't find what I was looking for. Thanx in advance.

Cat Cracker.

Re:To stack, or not to stack...

Haven't heard a 3rd gen with stacks but I can tell you a 2nd gen sounds great with stacks. Yes it is loud though and it becomes a matter of preference. You can pull your muffler off and drive around like that and it will be as loud as stacks (maybe even louder due to the resonation under the truck) I have noticed that my 3rd gen still makes as much exhaust noise as my 2nd gen did, even though the engine itself runs much quieter.

Re:To stack, or not to stack...

Thanks for the reply Dodgezilla. I ran my "old" truck, an 01' eth/dee 2500, with just the resonator . I liked the sound of it, I just didn't know with the stack outlets about 6" above the back of the cab if it would be annoying. I hate to spent the money just to find out they are unbearable. I think I'll do it, I can always fix the hole in my bed I guess...CC.
