High side pressure is perfect, low side a tad high. usually when an orifice tube plugs pressure on the low side is higher. have you ever changed the receiver/dryer?

First gen trucks have an expansion valve instead of an orifice tube.

Those numbers look about right for an engine that's idling. You might see the suction pressure drop to around 35psig at a higher engine rpm.

The suction line sweating at the compressor is normal operation (the cooling effect is needed to cool the compressor).

Based on what info is provided thus far tells me the refrigeration system is working overall.

You might be a little short of refrigerant (we don't know what the outdor air temperature is at your house to confirm via a refrigerant pressure/temperature chart ).

If this were my mess, I'd look hard at the dampers of the blower box and make sure they're working correctly.

* If the refrigerant metering device, be it cap-tube, TXV, etc, were restricted, you'd see the suction pressure abnormally low with little or no sweating at the compressor.

Clamp off the heater hose and see what happens. Or you could install a valve in the heater hose.

As stated above it sounds like a control problem. I don't remember if 1st gen has cables or vacuum controls.
