Messed w/ the full power screw...maybe another 3/4 turn in from the past 1/2 turn. I tried to adjust/tighten my throttle cable by bringing in the dumbell looking hardware w/ the two ***** on the end a couple of turns and now the rpm's are up to 850-900 w/o AC at park in idle. Sounds good, runs good and tight, response of throttle seems to be there. Will there be problems down the road aside from a loss of mpg's?

As long as it doen't pull you too hard at lights it won't hurt anything. Are you out of adjustment on the idle screw?

it does pull some...as soon as I release my foot of the brake it is wanting to go. So, what damage is happening, if any? I guess I am not understanding your question about the idle screw. Did I make a mistake by bringing in the adjustment rod? Nice chattin' w/ you again, Guru.

I'm not asking about the power screw, I'm asking about the idle screw. The screw the throttle lever rests on at idle - any reason you can't back that off to lower the idle speed? I often have to grind the end of the screw to get more adjustement, you might try that if you can't get a screwdriver on it or it has hit the return line. You might also have to grind on the bellcrank stop to get enough travel for the throttle lever to hit the idle screw.

As long as the trans temp is under control, the pulling at idle won't hurt anything. It's just kind of annoying.
