Ive been looking for the last 30 minutes and cant seem to find any #s. Does anybody know what the oil pressure should be at idle and at redline(2,200)?

I think I remember the manual giving 7 psi as tolerable low pressure, my virgin 4bt hits 85 before the oil gets warmed up, 60 at operation temp of 180*

 

Curb idle speed 6 psi min.
3000 rpm 30 - 80 psi
It's in the book.......as John Standley would say.

Most of us are used to seeing 20-30 at idle unless it's real hot, and 55-60 psi at speed when warmed up (regulated) , up to 80 when cold.

 

Thanks for the info. Im buying a mechanical gauge and want to know what i should expect.

 

Depending on ambient temp, 40-60ish idle psi - initial startup.
Cruise @ 60mph = approx 40-45psi @ normal opp temp.
@ normal temp idle = 20-22psi. (18-20 with AC)

I T'd my oil line off the same port the factory oil pressure sensor is located.
