oil pan help

oil pan help

not a big fan of fishing espescially in oil as some of you guys no i have some trouble with my truck making weird sounds thought it was tranny so its out still noise took front cover off to check kdp still there but missing a bolt so i dropped the oil found a piece of metal on pan plug so did some fishing but im not patient enough so next step take off oil pan

i need to no

1 seems like a tight fit can it be taken out without raising motor
2 is it worth it
3 missing bolt was just over vibration damper could it have gone anywhere else but oil pan

According to Haynes Manual 30041 the oil pan can be replaced in-frame. You'll need a decent picker to hoist the engine off the motor mounts, and possibly pull the rad for clearance. Otherwise doesn't look too tough. Good Luck with that noise!

oil pan

oh well i was starting to get some bolts off to get oil pan off just to take a peek in there but noooo stripped a bolt rigth over the crossmember now i got no choice but to take it off engine mounds raise it

im really really starting to hate my truck now maybe ill just forget the whole thing and put it back together and floor it until it blows maybe even junk that piece of ????

before you do anything rash hang in for one of our "collectors" to make you an offer you can't refuse. I know of one who's considering swapping out his 5spd for an AT, and maybe your steering shaft is real good and tight, and how's your headlight switch? See where this is going?

oil pan is finally off but still gona have to raise engine to take a peek in there

weekend

well the week end is here after im done shoveling all of that snow im gona go back to the truck oil pan is off but not out i cant see in it gona try some things

ITS ALIVE ITS ALIVE didnt find bolt in oil pan so put it all back together and its alive gona put the pulleys back on to see from there did pull out another piece off metal in pan
tranny is not on yet but soon

That's a bit of good news Dodge92. Next thing you know you'll be back in love with old Smokey. Did you perforate your air cleaner box? If so what result. I've thought about it but yours is the first hint I've seen along these lines.

air box

yup my air box looks like it was shot by a 12 gage i also got a k/n i clean it every 3 months so far so good as you no more fuel more air =more power
my tranny is back on tomorow if i have time ill put transfer case back on and all the brackets and wires hope im lucky cause now that winter is over i bought a meyer electic hydrolic plow
