oil pan

Oil pan leak has gotten to be too much. I know i have to raise the motor up to change the gasket. Question is do I have to un bolt the trany to get enough clearance to get the pan out?
Thanks is advance!

nop just lift up the motor, get a long extension for the back pan bolts, and prob remove the rear valve cover to lift the motor so it will not hit the firewall. and watch ur fan in the shroud.you will have to lift it high enough to clear the engine oil pick up tube.
