I have recently acquired an oil leak from the front of the engine. I thought it was the crank seal, so this weekend I did the KDP (and seal and gasket). It still hasnt been fixed. I see oil on the oil pan bolts, but mainly on the drivers side of the truck. Could it be the oil pan gasket? Any other ideas? I will try to get some pictures tomorrow and post them.

 

Most likely the vacuum pump or the interface between it and the power steering pump (at least that's the deal on my truck).

I got a better look at it today, and I think you guys are right. How big of a deal is it and how much do you think it will cost? Is it a DIY kind of repair or should I have someone else do it? Thanks for the help.

 

I can't remember the exact verbage but it seems there may be an issue with running a rebuilt PS pump on the vacuum pump.

I can't think of where I saw it but it seems some of the pump rebuilders claim the interface is queer about alignment (more so than just putting it back together like you found it).
