O/D issues?

Alright i was just cruisin in my truck today and it was shiftin fine. And it was in overdrive, then I just let off the throttle to let it coast and then it shifted down and out of overdrive and so it didn't coast in overdrive like it usually does, so then i got back on the throttle and it shifted back up into overdrive again and then i let off and it did it again, it keeps shiftin down everytime i let off and i'm in O/D. It didn't do this before, but today it started doin this. When my grandpa used to have this truck he said he had issues with the overdrive before but this is the first time its acted up on me. He said he used to just wiggle the wires by the TPS and the little connection by the front valve cover and then it would work fine. Should i mess with the TV cable to fix this or what do i do? I've thought about goin to POT controlled and this may be the time to do it... any help is appreciated. thanks

actually the more i have driven it, I don't think its electrical anymore. I think its my tranny. It acts like it always wants to kick out of overdrive now. And when my truck is in overdrive, the rpms of the motor are higher than they used to be, like its slippin. I need to change my tranny filter and oil soon when i get time and take a close look at it. Do you think its the tranny and not electrical?

check the wire going from tps to speed sensor on front of motor...right where it goes into first loop...mine was wearing there and was shorting which would kick me out of overdrive and back in....

I"m suspecting this for mine aswell. I did the POT conversion but I still have a code thrown for the TPS. Must be a wire off somewhere. I like the POT, but it sucks that it wont downshift on me when I want to pas or pull a hill when I'm going slower than 45 or so.

I know i need to just tear it out and have it rebuilt and throw in a shift kit and torque converter, but i don't have the money yet. How do i adjust my tps? is it in the stickys?

I have a question about the POT controller, so you can adjust it to where you want it to shift right? but it won't shift down when you punch it unless you dial it back? So if it doesn't shift down, will it just lug the motor down like on a manual?

I hope its electrical, I don't wanna mess with a tranny right now... What else should i check?
