NV5600 pros cons... help?
Okay... so i cant pass this deal up... i dont think i found a good 1999 ctd nv5600 for $500! and i REALLY want a manual transmission, i love shiftn so the issue is it is a 99' tranny so it has the small 1 1/4" input shaft, and im planning on more than 500hp..... do i need to change it? Also i dont have a manual T-case.... so can i get an adapter coupler that will match the 29spline output on the 6spd to my 23 spline tcase? And if anyone has done this swap and is pushing good amounts of hp, please chime in id like to rack your brains for a bit thanks

Well I don't know but maybe go and ask the guys in the second gen area, I"m sure there are lots of them up over that power level?
Also I must get a good old "GO WILDCATS" in.
I'm from sonora, I know the game is down in Oakdale on friday.
Don't even know if you played ball?
Good luck with your build!

have you thought about a divorced transfer case? i don't know what it would take work and parts wise, but just thought i'd throw it out there.

Cons: Parts, people are have a hard time finding NV5600 parts, I do not know why but a ton of transmissions shops cant get parts and I even hear dodge can't either. Besides has anyone swapped a G5600?

New venture is out of business now. A lot of tranny shops want to use factory parts and there isn't much aftermarket for it. People are complaining about their reliability, but they are towing a lot of weight. I'd sell the thing, make some money off of it and buy a 4500 or a getrag. RonA made a custom coupler but he is running a 29 spline 205 behind a 47RH. With the power your making adding a manual trans might mess that 23spline 205 up.

Thanks for the replys fellas i havent thought about the divorced tcase idea... but then again i dont have one either. As for parts.... i dont need any, the trans has already been gone through with new sincros and such. I dont know about messing up the 23 spline from swapping to a manual... i mean how else do guys with more hp than me do it with there automatic trannys? but hey.... i honestly dont if it would break or not anyways. As for the why... hahahaha i love manual transmissions and i would rather be slow and grabbing gears than fast and bored i love my 47rh... super strong and fast... heck i ran a 13 second quarter with it but i still rather have a 6spd, or if anyone knows of a 5spd near by me for $500 . And the g5600 does have a good 6th gear ratio as the nv5600.
