I am installing a NV5600 in my 93. I would like to know if the transfercase will work with the 5600 or do I need a adaptor or what will i need to do? Any info will be of help

I think the tranfer case imput uses a different number of splines than NV5600 output. I think you can buy an aftermarket shaft to put into your transfer case to make it match up.
Don't take my word for it, though, because I'm not sure.
This swap has been done before. Take a look through the history and maybe you will find the answer. I had a link to a thread about it bookmarked, but I just tried it and it doesn't work now.

There is a post on here somewhere about the swap. You will need to shorten the female coupler and machine a surface for the 5600 oil seal to ride on or remove the 5600 oil seal and let it slop into the adapter housing. If I remember correctly, the Getrag and 5600 output splines are the same.
Lucky devil.
The 5600 requires the late model flywheel housing, too.

It wroks fine remove the seal, let the excess splash around but take tour adapter in and have it machined for an o ring just for added protection. if its 4x4 nv5600 and the 205 share the same splines the collar sleeve fits both if the 205 is off of a manual transmission. we had one that the adapter would leak ever so little too it in machined in an o ring problem solved, i think it was clocking a little under load and tearing the gasket.

I installed an NV5600 in my 92, but it is 2WD. I have photos in the forums that was posted on 7-30-03 As far as I know, I thought the 205 was splined different, but I dont know for sure. http://www.drivetrain.com/nv5600.htm...Dodge%20Getrag
here is a sight that has conversion kits and info on swaping transmissions.
Good luck to you and enjoy the 6 speed, I do

Wow!
If you wouldn't mind, I have been kinda planning on doing the conversion on my truck when the clutch goes -- can you give us the low-down on what you bought from whom to put it in?
Thanks,
Alec

I bought the from the motor plate, flywheel, trans and starter from a freind out of a wreaked 2002. the tansfercase out of a 91 for the bigger imput. but mine was a automatic not a getrag. the difference between the auto and the nv5600 is a inch that is the thicknes of the motor plate all i had to do was modifie the crossmenber and transfercase shifter work and shorten the rear driveshaft 1", the front driveshaft worked with nothing done to it. It was a lot less work than i thought it would be. But I don't know the difference from the getrag. I will have to post some pics. You will like the 6 speed

Did You use the transfer case from your auto or get one from a getrag. if you had to use the t-cas from the getrag what is the differance between the getrag 205 and the 205 from behind an auto?
