NV4500 Reverse light switch

I'm going to post this link from the 2nd gen forum. I'm currently trying to get reverse lights working on the crew, and came across this thread.

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...0-t142842.html

We can contribute more info here as well. I will update here as I progress, since this is being done on a 1st Gen truck.

I assume when the transmission is not in reverse, the resistance between the 2 leads will be open (Infinite)... when you switch to reverse it should close. If it doesn't, it probably needs a new switch like they were saying...

my nv4500 in the garage has crimp on butt splices to mine real close... looks like someone was swapping already, or had issues with it.

My 92 has no reverse lights. Exactily where is the switch on the 4500? Is it where I can see it with the tranny in the truck? I have yet to even crawl under looking for the switch.

I'm pretty sure its the one mounted close to the shifter Rich... The 2nd gen guys say it's difficult to get at, but maybe it's easier on ours.

Mine was easy. Both bulbs were blown. I went crazy on the rear harness. I put relays on reverse lights, blinkers, stop and parking.
