whats it take to put an nv4500 in a first gen? I don't see anything under "drivetrain" in the sticky..

 

Either a Advanced adapter kit to use the first gen stuff . Or a second gen motor plate and bellhousing and flywheel .

 

You don't need the NV-4500 flywheel, your Getrag flywheel works fine.

If you are going to use the thicker 2nd gen adapter plate you will need a 2nd gen starter as well.

Getting the 4x4 shifter linkage to work like I wanted to with the A.A. gated Transfer case shifter mounting kit took some time and modifications.
