Normal EGT temp?

when running unloaded in this 30-40 degree weather what should my EGTs be when cruising around town? Im reading between 300 and 400. I think thats too low, dont really know. I think maybe the pyro is messed up, by the way the probe is mounted about 4 inches post turbo.

Thanks for replies
Josh

Welcome to DTR, Jmd025! Mine runs about 450-500(post turbo)@55mph in this weather. How long have you had the truck? If you don't trust the pyro, buy a new one---a lot cheaper than buying a new engine...

Sounds pretty normal to me. I've been driving around all week between 300-500 pre turbo. You just can't use much throttle in the snow. 3 degrees below helps too.

if you have an isspro egt check the connections where they bolt together. my pyro started reading low then stopped working. called tech at isspro (very helpful). said to check connections as they carry little voltage (millivolts) and loose or corroded connections would do that. i wiggled mine and it started working again. tech said to remove the bolts and solder the wires together and all would be fine
