No turn signals - please help me, I'm stupid...

Today was one of those days where NOTHING was going right - probably shouldn't have picked today to work on the truck.

So, anyway... I was replacing a side turn signal lamp and I guess I wired it backwards. So I turn the key and flip the signal switch and *pop* no signals at all. Now... am I correct in thinking it's the flasher that needs to be replaced? I got a new one and still no signals. It's kinda dark now so I couldn't see anything else. Do they also have a fuse? Nothing else is marked "turn signals".

I am just feeling real stupid right now...

Eletrical stuff can be frustrating. Just take a deep breath and basically start over. There are fuses to every circut so you'll have to look & test every fuse. Make sure they are all working first. If you blew a fuse obviously something is wired wrong.
Remove the light bulb and use a volt meter to test continuity & voltage in the bulb socket.

What did you do with the ground wire?

I wired it to the ground side of the new light. I tested them before I mounted them, and they worked. Then when I mounted them I must have accidently grounded out the hot wire (?) I think. Not sure - either way - *pop*

If they worked befor even if that light bulb was bad, id go along with taking a peek at your hot wire, sounds like the culprit.

I am going to relax and get calmed down and check it tomorrow, in the light. I am getting a feeling that there is a fuse in line that is blown. I let myself get frazzled and that's always a good time to put the tools away...
