No overdrive no speedometer!

Just bought a 92 cummins clubcab dodge truck from an Amish guy, for $2000 bucks! Its in great condition except the
Overdrive doesnt work and the speedometer doesnt work.

what might the problem be? there was a new TPS in the cab, we installed it and still the same!

We left it at the border, to legalize and import it. and are gonna get it over to Mexico this week!

is there anything we could take with us, to fix it, insted of driving home another 6 hours without overdrive?

we frove the Truck 1300 miles like that at 74 mph max pedal to the floor all the way all the time!

There is a problem with the VSS. Sometimes they just fall off or are too loose to work, sometimes the drive gear gets stripped, and sometimes it's just a bad electrical connection.

that's the one, easiest fix would be if it just worked itself loose, but take a look, worst case should be replacing it, unless the wires have rubbed through somewhere.

dang brothers i have!

the truck had the an extra VSS (if that what its called) in the cab! they should have installed it prior to the trip, but oh well, he came home driving with the pedal to the medal 1,300 miles plus 6 hours of driving home!!

installed it and done! works now! the truck looks clean for 2000 dollars! that amish guy didnt wanna pay his driver 10 dollars an hour for driving him around, I suppose they cant drive trucks theyrself!

well this truck is cheaper than any one of all his horses!

thanks for your help guys!

that makes 4 first gens
