No Horn, No Cruise

I took apart the steering wheel today to see why my horn didn't work.
Looks like I will ordering a new clock-spring unit tomorrow.

That'll do it. Did yours make crunchy noises and bind the steering column when it failed?

The clockspring is used for only the horn and cruise. The brake switch feeds the multifuntion switch(turn signals, wiper, headlight dimmer). That is a completely different switch and not any part of the clockspring.

Well there seems that the brake light switch should have some relation to things because it turns the cruise off when you hit em'.

It's possible but highly unlikely.

My cruise hasn't worked for 7 years now, never used it so I never bothered
to fix it. The horn went out just lately, I'll let you know if my cruise works
after I get the new clockspring an install it.

Yes,
My CC hasn't worked in seven years and the horn just failed lately.
I put in the new clockspring this morning and test drove it.
My CC and horn are working again now.

Clockspring cost me $189.00 CDN (dealer retail price was $236.00)
