The clockspring is used for only the horn and cruise. The brake switch feeds the multifuntion switch(turn signals, wiper, headlight dimmer). That is a completely different switch and not any part of the clockspring.

Just change mine.
Hello there. I'm new here. Just bought a 92 w250 with 250k on the clock from second owner for 800 USD. Changed my clock spring two weeks ago. cruise and horn works now. Also installed oogah horn for the helluvit.
My cruise hasn't worked for 7 years now, never used it so I never bothered
to fix it. The horn went out just lately, I'll let you know if my cruise works
after I get the new clockspring an install it.

My CC hasn't worked in seven years and the horn just failed lately.
I put in the new clockspring this morning and test drove it.
My CC and horn are working again now.
Clockspring cost me $189.00 CDN (dealer retail price was $236.00)
