No factory front anti-sway bar?

Mine doesn't have one. I thought all these trucks had a front anti-sway, but no rear.

Perhaps it's been uninstalled, but there are no tell-tale marks, so if it's been removed, it must have been when new.

The trucks so stiff maybe it doesn't need one, but I plan on a camper soon, and I think most campers need anti-sway, front and rear.

Anyone else missing the factory anti-sway bar?

Or was it an option?

I don't have one on my truck. One of the previous owners did haul a camper, though, and put an add-a-leaf in the front -- seemed to work for him.

So I don't think anyone stole it from your truck . . .

Same here. I do not have one on my truck but I think they started coming out in 93 or 94 for sure with the 2nd gens. I am jealous because I'm sure it must help a little and that is better then not at all.

I do know you can purchase them for our trucks though.

I dont think any first gens had sway bars, front or rear, except 1 ton 4x4s You can buy one for the rear from Helwig. I ran a camper on a 85 Cheby 4x4 with a 4" lift and thought it was OK. then I put it on my 93 250 CTD. You dont need a sway bar on these. there pretty stiff. I have air bags in the rear that kinda work like a sway bar. There stiff as well and dont compress or expand much, it actually is better with them at 5psi only for sway.
it still kills me every time we load up with the camper and trailer and get 14 to 16 mpg and can run 75 mph like nothing.

Thanks for the input, guys.

Maybe it won't need a swaybar, it is pretty stiff (even with Skyjackers and Ranchos), and once I set a camper on it I may well go with some airbags, and see then if it even needs antisway.

I installed a Hellwig on my buds Dodge class C, it was a piece of cake, and under $150 if I remember right.

The front sway bars were an option.

I had to order my truck to get it the way I wanted it, (plain/stripped/work-truck kinda thing), and all the dealers had on their lots at the time were real fancy things. The one thing the sales guy talked me into, was the front anti-sway bar for around $30 I think. It was a cheap option and he said it'd make the truck handle better.

WOW! Someone asked a question I could answer!!!!

chaikwa.

Planejane, these guys have a rear, but not a front for your 93 2wd:

Edit: No front bars for any 1st gens.

My '93 W250 CC has one in front from the factory. I'm adding a Hellwig to the rear. Haul a camper; hate bags.
