No Charge

Well I had a weird experience today I called a guy about a D350 and he said its only issue is that it won't charge because the "Cumputer" was messed up lol and it wouldn't send the message to the alternator and he is a mechanic any truth to his statement?

He got that one right.

Can be replaced with an external voltage regulator, and might just be a dirty connector on the crankshaft position sensor.

First gens do have an ecm and the alternator's charging rate is one of the things it controls. You can go with an external regulator or just replace the computer. Rebuilt units used to be available through all the main players in the auto parts business. Prices should be somewhere in the $200-$300 range.

Or before replacing the ecm, set the Crankshaft position sensor gap to .050
If that doesn't work, try .045, .040, 0.035
It may start working
Cheers

Look inside the drivers side fender near the battery, you'll find the ecm
