Probably more like 100,097 miles, clean truck though!

If I remember correctly 1979 wasn't exactly the height of Detroit's quality control program. It didn't make any difference if it was GM or Ford too as they all sucked quality wise in those days. Think about it...can you name many classics to come out of Detroit after about 1972 up till about 1985 or so*?? It wasn't until they got their collectives asses kicked by the imports from Europe and Japan several years later that the word QUALITY was even in their vocabulary. Unfortunately this truck fits in those non-quality years so about all that's happening here is to delay the inevitable by some years. Now if this one was a 1989 and it was a diesel, well now you'd have something!! Don't spend too much on this one...
Chuck

* Buick's Grand National hotrods of the early 80's and the 1985 Monte Carlo come to mind personally....but those type of "classics" were rare coming out of Detroit in those days.

It looks good and all, but is that the original brake master cylinder? We had a 77 Dodge, and it had the same metal res. that our trucks have.

Wouldn't you like to know the history of that truck as to why it has so few miles.

The body may have 97 original miles, but the engine doesn't, unless it had rats nests all over it when they started it for the photo shoot.....

Nice shape, but it's probably 1000,097. The carpet's too dirty for only 97 miles.

I think that things will get dirty all by themselves after sitting for over twenty years.

My truck gets dirty after about twenty hours...

The real question is: how old is the gas in that thing?

I was looking for the tell tale wear on the pedals, but can't see any.

Interesting enough I talked to my cousin who is into old truck both large and small and sent him the link.. He knows of this truck...

He told me that is was found about 4 or 5 years ago in the back of a dealership (he thinks chicago) and it was a truck that never sold got put in the back and forgotten about. Some one bought it and had it towed home and that was the last they heard about it... untill now...

He told me to check out this link and he seems to thin it my be in here somewhere...

Even if it is not this is a cool place.. There is also a 30 year old new 3 axle truck in there.. A guy bought a bunch of them for cement trucks and ran out of money so he parked it in a shed waiting to add the cement mixer on and never put it on.. Still has the factory plastic on the seats...!!!
