Newbie turbo question

Is a HX50 to large for a first gen? I looked and could not find much on it so if this has been asked I didnt mean to ask again. What mods will need to be done for this turbo to work? I am fairly new to diesel performance but not performance engines. Any help would be great thanks in advance.

A HX50 is a fairly large single. What mods do you run? I doubt you need one that big. A HX40(a whole series smaller) can be lazy without the proper mods. You should fill out your sig. Welcome aboard!

I am building the engine for a 99 super duty. The engine is a 93. I have been doing a lot of reading and learning the past couple of weeks. The truck will be stictly off road (mud truck).

Where is the best place to buy 1st gen engine parts from?

if it is offroad only and you can do boosted launches it should be ok..
The local cummins dealer is the easiest.

Well I am biased toward f1's injectors and valvetrain parts. They do everything Don says they will do and more. Scheid makes some awesome hard parts and ip's for the 12 valve stuff.
