Question Any shorten or bob their 1st gen?

I am thinking about bobing the bed up to the shackles to shorten the look and better my approach/departure angels. Has any body done this with a 1st gen? I like my wheel base so frame shortening is not really an option. I haven't broken out the tape yet, but it almost looks there isn't that much room. The stock shackle hanger is quite large (and inverted??)

LanceD did it on his 2nd gen S-Cab with nice results, you can see his rig in the 4x4 forum.

Any ideas/pics etc....?????

You could get a bed off a wrecker, they are already shortened a lot to get the weight over the axle.

Real popular on 69-72 Chevy 1/2 tons cuz everybody wants a shortbed in those years and longbeds are a dime a dozen. 'Course they're more of a street rod application than a truck....
The thought crossed my mind too....... H.
