new ve pumps?

where is a good place to get a new ve pump for a fairly good deal. thanks,John

ya when i park facing uphill it cranks over like a new ford before it starts and when im facing downhill it fires up on the first crank. but today it wouldnt even start unless i held my foot to the floor so i think it is going out

have you checked the lift pump? you may have leak in fuel supply to the VE.

mine had a simular problem that went away when i replaced the lift pump. try that first since its only $60 and takes a few minutes.

Were are you getting a lift pump for 60 bucks. I priced a cummins one at 200 that was with company discount

Online. Ebay sellers often have them for under $50.

I bought one off someone on there for $36 bucks once. Brand new, Cummins p/n, not in the factory box.

Definately try a lift pump before spending a bunch on a rebuild VE. I would want a new lift pump for a rebuild injection pump anyway if it is not the solution to your problem.

try napa or a regular parts store. Mine is a carter brand and a little bigger in size than the stock one i replaced. it runs totaly different now with a good LP. I think mine was like $58 a few years ago when I got it from advance or pepboys, i cant remember.

ya i checked the lift pump and it is pouring the fuel out when i pump it. if it is the pump i just got a used pump off of a water pump engine that had 3000 hrs on it but it was free 90 free
