New Turbo Installed

I installed my new PDR HX-35 and 16cm housing today.
I get 19psi of boost and 1100 deg egt.
Are these performance numbers about right for my setup?

Sounds about right to me. I get about 23 psi and 1250 max egts with the stock h1c, couple turns on the fuel screw, 3200 GS, AFC lever ground, and timing advanced.

I thought you would be at more boost then that. With my setup I can get over 37psi but thats not that good air I want. I also have a stock h1c and i haven't touched timing, afc lever, or grinded the fuel pin yet. Wich i guess its not the same setup then but still Id think you would have more boost then me. Even though yours is timed more but you only went 1/8 so it can't drop it that much and your also intercooled but I dunno just mumbling on I guess

timing will change it a lot. When i installed the 3200 spring and ground the afc i was able to get 50lbs of boost and that was way to much for the h1c with 60mm wheel. so i advanced my timing again (the top of the pump is pretty close to the head now, really close.) and now i am getting about 38 or 40 lbs of boost now. Since you have a stock h1c a lot of the boost is just heat.

Ya I know its not the good kind of air that I want. My h1c isn't upgraded at all either a stock h1c gets out of its efficency range after 30psi. Im just not too keen on more timing with my truck because of the head gasket.

i know every truck is diffrent but i am pretty sure with on 1/8 inch you should be fine. it will drop your egts a lot and drop the boost. i know when i did mine the first 1/8 it was great. i thought it made a big differece. i know if i ever get another first gen that would be one of the first thing i would do to it.

Sounds about right to me. Was that a hard pull from a standstill? Are you happy with the performance of the truck? Does any smoke you have get cleaned up under full boost?

Yes, my numbers are from a standing start, the only smoke I see is
lasts just a moment till the turbo spools, then it's clean.
The low end power is better, top end power feels about the same, but I do like the whine. (silencer ring removed)

I guess my next mod should be a gov spring and power pin, then later maybe a set of 190 injectors

Ah heck, go for the PODs. The fuel pin and 3200 spring will make a difference, but the POD's say hello better.

Yeah Jim, you need more fuel!

What's the point of having numbers you never use on the pyrometer?

Try just the gov spring and a bump to your timing. That, combined with the 16cm housing, will give you plenty of top end to pacify you for a while. Plus, you'll only be out about about 20 bucks for the spring

BTW---nice truck! What color is that (yeah, BLUE, I know, but is it a Dodge color, or?)

And, that tailpipe looks awful small....I think I see where some of your missing boost is.

Yes it is the original blue color, the truck used to be two tone blue and silver.
I could problably get a little better performance if I get an air deflector
for my cargo box, it's like having a sheet of plywood flat into the wind, lots of drag.

A 4" exhaust would be nice, I'll add it to the list between the spring/power pin
and the POD's
