New Transmission and less power?

So I got my truck back from the shop, they put in a brand new A518 with assorted billet internals ( same stuff that was there before ) and WOW it's sluggish top end. It's the same transmission, converter combo. Nothing else has changed. I went from 35lbs boost to 25 - pulling hills I'll be in the 26-2800 rpm range and no smoke, doesn't get hot and a lot laggier. The non-smoke and lower boost #'s I might understand if the old tranny was slipping and making the engine work harder, but not the laggyness. The shop said they didn't change anything and all internal parts were the same or heavier duty. Throttle linkage is still the same. Any ideas?

What about your EGT's? Sounds to me like your power is down. Did you fill up with winter fuel?

Good Day,
JP.

Something got bumped and now you are not getting the fuel you used to. Check your throttle linkages, fuel lines (maybe one got bumped and pinched off), fuel pressure, etc.

You'll find it!

Thats the banjo bolted line going directly into the rear of the injection pump right? The linkage is correct, pushing accelerator makes full travel just like it used to. Slow speeds is just as peppy, it's just the top end. Feels like I'm not getting the same fuel or something

Yup. You are not getting full fueling for some reason, the trans is not the problem.

The line is the same as it's always been, not leaking or anything. They said they didn't touch anything, transmission and throttle valve cable were the only things replaced or messed with.

Make sure your fuel pin is not stuck.

Pulled it out and put it back in, drove around. Same thing. Boost caps @ 25 .. rpms cap at 2600. It's not horrible but it just doesn't get up and go high end like it used to. Just confusing

Did you have somebody else push the pedal while you watched the linkage or did you just run it by hand under the hood?
