New possible project- wanna run it by you guys

My Dad gave me his old 64 4 door step side dodge truck- ex air force truck- body is in real good shape- no rust. I have a 93 CTD getrag five speed donor truck for doing a swap. I am seriously thinking about starting to build this into a lifted 4x4 deisel truck.

I have a couple of questions- since this is first gen- will it bolt up to the old truck mounts? I will probably have to mate the radiator corre support to the old truck too, right? and what about dash requirements? how hard is it to wire up the dash to the new stuff? the donor is a dually, is there a coversion kit back to a single wheel that uses the same lugs and pattern?

Wow 58 views- no ideas? LOL

The biggest one right away is rims that fit my Danas from the 93 dually axels- front and rear- that are single rims, not dually! I would like to go no bigger than 38s I think

I seriously doubt anything will bolt up, but both are pretty basic it would be eaiser. I once checked into converting my 93 dually to srw, and it seems the rear end is wider than a srw so custom rims would be needed. There is a place called stockton wheel that might be of some help. That will be one cool rig when its done.

Well, the whole idea is toast as of tommorow morning- I traded the 93 in for a fifth wheel "patio hauler" 40 foot fifth wheel.

I still will have the old truck- if I find a donor- I will probably keep a look out for a good second gen donor

Well, wouldn't you know- I backed out of the fifth wheel deal- I just couldn't see spending all that money for such a limited use! So I still have the 93- where do you live Farmer? The price is cheap enough that it might pay for you to come get it LOL

I live in south east Iowa. IT always seems hard to get away from the farm for a luttle trip. I want one pretty bad and am checking all the papers for one and hope to get one this summer.

I want 6 grand for it- a one way plane ticket to AK from Chicogo can be as low as 3 hun, no tellin' what fuel costs on the Alcan- but I regularly get 26 mpg on it no problem.
