New to Modding a Dodge

Hello just bought my first Dodge. I use it is a daily driver but I am planning on modifying it and I am wondering what is an acceptable hp for day to day use. I have all sorts of questions as well i guess this would be a good place to start hope to get some replies and thank you for the time.

Hello Redneck

It's a good idea to put your trucks information in your signature such as mine and other's below.

It's a simple way to get more information from others, as they don't have to go through the humdrum of asking you time and time again... what do you have ????

The best place to start is here:

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...t-t102027.html

99 % of the questions that you will come up with can be found in there, along with the answers you need to complete your tasks. You'll find it very informative to just poke your head in here from time to time, and see what's being discussed. That's pretty much how most folks learn how to mod / repair their rides.

Post a pic or two will make the worms come out of their holes...

Welcome to crazy land, man !

You also need to expand on what your day to day driving consist of. I'm at 350hp/750 ftlbs torque and drive city streets to work and pull a trailer occasionally. Trailers weigh anywhere from 6,000-15,000lbs. Still a reliable truck in my opinion and still gets about 22mpgs on the highway.

Day to Day driving would consist of 8 miles to work 8 miles home, would like to put a 4 inch lift and 37s on it got 5 inch stacks already for it. I would like it to smoke when I do hammer on it.

My setup definitely smokes more than i would like it to. If I leave a red light in 2nd I have to be really easy on it till the rpms come up our I'll spin and smoke out the intersection.

You do Know Smoke is WASTED Fuel ? Please don't brag about how much smoke you can bellow out the pipes .That right there is why all the newer truck's have so much smog Junk On them .

Yes I know smoke is "wasted" fuel! and if I wanted all that smog crap on my truck I would have bought a newer truck but I could care less on what they put on the new trucks hence the reason why I bought a older one!

No one said you did want a truck with the smog stuff on it..

What was said is that it's because of people out there blowing tons of black smoke that the smog stuff is now a requirement on the new trucks, and we all know that the dpf and all that fun stuff is no good.

They are essentially the same trans, the RH is all hydraulically controlled, the RE, starting in 1996 brought in computer control of the Governor pressures. You will want to get a RH or have your current OD trans ( if equipped ) turned into one.

What year are we dealing with?
