Modding the hx35

So now that ive got the clutch Its time for new Pipes, The straight piped 3.5 is'nt going to cut it. So my question is, upgrading to a 40 housing worth the trouble? That way I dont have to buy a differant down pipe when I decide to get a differant turbo. Or I guess will my 35 with a 40 housing worth any thing at all? I just dont want to buy two downpipes... I am a little confused about all this turbo stuff. Mabee what I mean is a 14 cm housing not a 40. but does this still mean I have to change down pipes?

Thanks....Jay...

The hybrid 40/35 turbos have a compressor wheel/housing from a HX40. The turbine housing/wheel is from a HX35 turbo. Assuming you have HX35, the downpipe will be the same for the hybrid. Several other turbos use the same size/style of flage on the turbo. The 14, is the size of the turbine housing. 14cm2.

I have a HX-40, and they take a different downpipe.

Yea I am so new to turbos.
I guess I should have asked what turbo am I going to have to get without buying things twice.I know this is a very broad question but I spent 2 hours reading turbo info on the search. And now I am more confused....
In my sig is what I have, I will be adding at least 100 hp injectors and then an exhast. Or maybe the other way around.
So far I have done as everyone has said and bought what I realy want so I wont do it twice.

I am a carpenter and I use my rig for work. So I have about 500 lbs in the bed all the time, But also trailer my jeeps to the trails. Probably 8500 lbs at most.

I just want to try and find a good balance in performance the first time. And so you guy's havent steered me wrong so far.
Thanks for the help.....Jay....
