Wow,

Didn't realize there were characters like this on this forum...

On a bright note, his shenanigans will only last so long before someone ends his career and buries him in a local field somewhere...

What goes around, eventually comes around...

"Buyer/Seller Beware".

I'm still wondering why folks don't collect things like:
- Mama given names.
- Street addresses.
- Contact phone numbers.
- Photographs of the item(s) being sold.
- Some kind of mutually agreed upon note stating who gets what for what.
- A complete time/date stamped history of communications.
- And Heaven forbid, perhaps even a photocopy of a drivers license.

I'm so hard-nosed about things, I go as far as actually calling and speaking to those I do business with before the actual transaction.

Seems to me that if folks don't do things like this, as a minimum, they're just asking to get screwed.

I'm just saying . . . .

I knew he was shady as soon as he called from a blocked number. Honest people don't do that.

not necessarily true at all.

Our home phone comes up as a blocked number on other peoples caller ID. It's simply because we are an unlisted number, we aren't in the phone book. We just don't want the general public knowing our number. The other advantage of that is we don't get telemarketers calling us either.

Sure I could use my cell phone to call someone far away, but calling from a land line is almost always cheaper because the long distance packages are better.

That said, what David said makes sense. A few months ago I sold a bunch of items through this site and CF. Only one guy took the time to actually call me, and it was because he had been ripped off before. as much of an irritation as it was to deal with his hesitancy (delayed payment and shipping etc), I can definitely understand where he's coming from and would never fault him for it. Then again, it's usually not THAT hard to figure out who the scammers really are from the get go. The main reason some of us still get screwed is because we want to believe others aren't like that. the basic belief in the best of people. A good quality to have I think.

There are however some crafty, yet shifty people out there who rip a lot of people off.

I just sold my air bags to a member on here.. He payed me and I boxed the items as described/as shown and took the box to the post office, then gave the buyer the tracking number.

What is so hard about that??

It's not hard at all, if your intentions are honorable from the beginning. The problem in this case is a lack of basic morals.

I have known people who:
Only watch out for "#1"
Think they are always right.
Think they are smarter and better educated than anybody else.
Think that they have the right to just take anything they desire.
Have no problem using deceit to accomplish said taking.
Will even take their mother's pension to support their own bad habits.

Usually they die at a relatively young age from alcohol, drugs, or suicide.

The trick is to discern such character and avoid any dealings with them.

When I sold my 2003 Super Duty Crew V-10 on Sleaze-bay several years ago (B.M.M. {before Mad Max}.) I told the buyer that I believe a manifold bolt popped or rusted off because I can hear a faint tick when I first start it up. I could not see it because it was the last bolt in the rear of the engine (naturally.) After the truck heated up, the “ticking” sound would stop. The truck only had 60-K on the clock with about 80% of that were Interstate miles. It was very clean.

Long story short, he is “X” military and lives in Virginia. He drove up with his wife, LOVED my truck and drove it home happy.

Several days later I get an email explaining that the entire exhaust manifold warped and that it is a common problem with the V-10’s (funny, I never got a recall notice from Ford making good on their mistake…. What a shock!)

The motor had to be lifted in order to replace the manifold and it would cost about $1,200 or $1,400 to do the job (I forget now, it’s called getting old.) He said that I told him about the ticking and that he bought the truck anyway but asked if I could help him out (even though I was not obligated.) I split the difference with him and had wife-a-roni send him down a check.

Because of that, I have a friend for life who sends me great emails (he works for the Dept of Defense), I can sleep over his house when my wife and I pay our respects at Arlington National Cemetery every spring, and get this: He recently told his brother about my company and me. His brother had some roofing issues that other “professionals” were killing him on.

Last Saturday, My lead mechanic and I started and finished a $1,200 Spanish tile roof repair job for him while saving him about $600.00 and doing the job 100% correct.

He too (the brother) is a super guy, and I have a funny feeling I will know him for the rest of my life as well.

So, that being said, I would rather be honest, fair, and always tell the truth, then to be a dishonest dirt bag, constantly looking over my shoulder while trying to remember what I said to whom.

Boys and girls, I sleep well at night. I would have it no other way.

Call me silly……

That's my two-cents worth.

I hope you have a positive outcome with your injector problem.

I had hoped this guy would make it right I used to think folk where generally good but I guess not...

For example 92 smoking blacky bought cc switches I had laying around he tries them on his Truck says they are no good I said recheck em and get back to me. He did and they are junk and I sent him his money back.
That was the proper thing to do not Buyer beware you bought them its your problem now...
That's all I want is for it to be made right.
Do unto others...

Thanks.

It is pretty cool how some things work out well at times, however, for every nice story like that one, I have a many nightmare stories about dirt bags to negate the good stories.

Thats my story.

A couple years back I sold the 22re motor out of my yota to a guy for $100.00. Motor was running when I took it out and stored it out of the weather in my garage. A month later he calls wanting his money back saying the motor was locked up and full of water. I said ok, bring it by my house or let's meet up so I can see it and if necessary I'll return the money and take my the motor back. We arranged a time to meet and he no showed. Haven't heard from him since. Best I can figure is he was gonna try to scam me on the money. Tried to call him a couple times but got no answer and no returned calls.
