New Danin Optix or Isspro?? Guage input needed!

I am getting ready for my second order from Geno's Garage, after buying my 1993 W250 4x4 on 7/9.
I am looking to purchase some guages - boot, pyrometer, fuel pressure, trans temp. I am deciding between New Danin Optix (OEM supplier to Caterpiller), or Isspro guages. Which is the better choice in manufacturer?

Also, regarding the EGT pyrometer - should I order a pre or post turbo application? Geno's also lists a non pre/post turbo pyro guage.

This is my first diesel, so bear with the newbie questions

I'm probably not gonna be much help here, other than to say that my Danin/DiPricol gauges just got here a few days ago. Got 'em from Diesel Manor, not that there's anything wrong with Geno's by anymeans. Diesel Manor just had everything else I was looking for too, so I got it all from them.
Anyway, I LOVE the way the gauges look, don't have them hooked up yet, but looks relatively simple.
BTW, my pyro came with a 7' wiring extension and on my 92, going from the exhaust manifold to the A pillar this was MORE than enough. Same for the boost gauge, it came with 10' of tubing, WAY more than I needed.

Good luck

PS, AFAIK, theres no difference between a pre and post pyro.

Pre-turbo gives you a better indciation of what your turbo is enduring, but you face the downside of the possibility of the probe breaking off and lunching your turbo on the way through....

I don't think the pre-VP44's really need a FP gauge...?

You don't need to worry about the EGT probe breaking. I would put it pre-turbo. Rauschbo is correct- it gives you a more accurate reading.

The only Isspro gauge I have is my tach and the curved lens drives me nuts. Do all their gauges have that same rounded glass lens? It creates an awful glare/reflection which makes the gauge hard to see/read when it's sunny out. The Autometers I have are perfectly flat lenses and there is almost never a glare on them.

Isspro's...reliable?? HA!! I can't count how many people have had trouble with that amplifier box for the Pyro. Of all the gauges that can be complicated or prone to failure, the Pyro is not it!

I'd go DiProcol, Autometer, or any other guage that the probe hooks directly to the gauge! Simple is better!

IMHO,
Chris
