i bought a 2wd automatic cab from a gasser truck, same year as my truck, i had to put a new drivers floor in it and switch transmission tunnels. im now going to spray bed liner on the floor to help with water proofing and sound deadening, before i do this, i need to know if anyone knows how the clutch pedal attaches. ill i need to drill/cut a hole for it in the firewall? i cant get a good look under the dash to see how its connected, any help will be appreciated!

 

The pedals are mounted from a piece of round stock that goes threw mounting holes in the steering column mounting brace.

You just remove the lock down bolt. Then drive the shaft towards the driver side of the truck. The pedals will fall off. Reinstall the oppisite way. There are plastic bushings in the support bracket. Mkae sure you don't lose them.

Install the clutch M/C mounting bracket before the pedals. With the pedals installed the mounting bolts for the M/C bracket are hard to get to.

It depends on the year of the cab. The later year cabs have the M/C mounting hole all ready punched. It has a rubber plug blocking it.

In this pic, on the right side of that firewall there is a square hole. That is the main wiring harness connector plug hole. The round rubber plug to the left of it is the hole the M/C goes threw.

 

It should have a rubber plug in the firewall that you pull out for the clutch cylinder to go through. You'll need to swap in your 5spd pedals and the clutch bracket that bolts to the left side of the steering column mount

I also made a mistake in my post. The rod the pedals mount from needs driven to the passenger side of the truck to remove it.

 

so pretty much no additional holes will need to be cut, just put the bracket into existing holes?
