need some mud flaps

Since I got the stacks removed and the 4" and 5" tip back on. I am more frustrated with the rocks, tar and mud being thrown by the rear tires. Let alone what it does to the front of my camper. Does anyone have any suggestions for some mud flaps for a first gen? I can't seen to find anything that I see worth trying.

Check out my pics in my gallery. Put everything together myself. Got the flaps from Kragen auto parts, angle iron, paint, nuts/bolts from the hardware store, and the pretty chrome stuff from a BIG truck chrome/toy store.

How about one of those brushes that go across below the back bumper and almost touch the ground?

i'm more interested in keeping the mud and tar off the truck. I don't pull the camper that much but the flaps would help out when I did.

Buckshot, I found a set up very similar to yours at cabela's. I think it was $10 for 2 so 20 to do all the way around. I had to modify just slightly to look the way I wanted it to. I'm using a 12 by 15 piece of diamond plate as a mud flap and the brackets hold it just fine.

I went to the local Cummins dealership and bought two of their mudflaps. Hardware store for the rest. It's kinda funny now, the flaps keep the overspray pretty much off the boat now, BUT when people try to pass you they back off for a little bit then get a good run at it. They don't like all the spray coming out the sides.
OH WELL

I got mine found dead on Freeway

I was able to find a matching set of the new 'anti-spray' version during a 150 mile drive on I-5 last week

I don't recommend this method, at night or during 'rush hour'

Mud Flaps

This is how I installed the mud flaps onto my truck. They are cut from full size flaps the kind used on tractor / trailers. I cut and welded a square tube hanger to support the flap that is bolted to the frame rail through an existing hole. I also welded a brace about mid point to support the weight. These are very sturdy and the thick flaps will hardly move till you get around 65 / 70 MPH.
Check out my gallery for the the pictures and description of how I made them.
I have only lost one flap and that is when my wife took me to the hospital emergency and was backing up and bumped a curbing. I found out the next day.
Hope I was some help. Jim
