need info on getrag shifter rebuild
i think i will be tearing out the shifter assy on the top of my getrag
what is involved in refreshing the assy ,should i replace the forks what should i measure on them to see if they are worn,
the trans hangs up in second gear and is hard to get back to nuetral, hopefuly it isnt more serious , i just picked up the truck today
this is my second 1st gen my first i totaled new with 11k miles on it
then bought a new 94 ,now a new 04.5
wanting to go back to the simpler better fuel efficient 1st gen ,ill be keeping the 04.5 though ,
thanks,

I just had my Getrag completely rebuilt.
There is a complete seal, bearing, synchronizer, gasket kit available that cost something like $260.
New forks were $70 each.
I was un-familiar with the specifics of the Getrag, so I let the pros do the work.
Labor, kit, fork, and speedometer gear was $575.
