need help with my new Hx-35/12cm setup

I finally got this thing on. Took it for a test spin, and when I brought it back the exhaust housing itself was smoking, like it had oil on it. There are no oil leaks, there is a little exhaust leak from the manifold to where the housing connects that I need to fix. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks, Tony

Was your hands greasy or oily when you installed the turbo? Did you use a new gasket from the manifold to the turbo? My hx came from the junkyard and the exhaust housing smoked the first time i drove it after install. If you did not use a new gasket, 4$ will get u a new one at the dodge dealer. Also a little ultra copper gasket sealer might help on that gasket too. It worked well for me on the wastegate adapter on my hx. Good luck

Well I got everything put on. The spool up is quicker, but not as much as I would have thought, coming from a 21cm. I'm glad I didn't go with the 16cm.

The smoke from the exhaust housing was all of the liquid wrench I put on it. lol Any way it is a great improvement. Thanks, for all the help guys (via my threads, and all of the old threads).

Later, Tony

Got gauges? If the pyro is in check, you might consider taking a bit of timing out. You'll get better spool and overall grunt to overcome the slushbox's, well, slushieness
