1st Gen 12cm NON-wastgated Turbo Housing
I was just about to order a 14cm n/w turbo housing from PDR when I noticed a 12cm n/w on Ebay for 1st gens. Would this housing be too restrictive ...... exessive egt's ..... overboost???? ??? ??? ???

It depends on what your truck will be used for.
Daily driver with some light towing the 12 should be o.k.
If you are going to be doing a fair amount of heavy towing then the 16 would be your better choice. The smaller turbo while towing will produce higher e.g.t's. My $.02.

Re:1st Gen 12cm NON-wastgated Turbo Housing
Powerwagon is running a 12cm on his '93 and does a fair amount of towing. I run a 14cm wastegated Banks on mine and love it. I have only gone up to 1150 on a couple of ocassions and then for less than a minute. I've only seen these temps while towing up hills such as Cabbage Hill in Pendelton OR and Bridger Pass in MT. Typically I will see this at close to WOT in 4th. The 14cm spools up very quickly and has little or no turbo lag. Hope this helps.
Bob

Under 250 HP you probably won't have any problems with the 14 or the 12cm housings. 12cm is standard issue for the ETH model and should be plenty for our rigs.

I was dreaming of finding an old HX35 off a BOMB'd truck near by and putting that on instead. It would have the stock 12cm housing. :Hmmm.

J-eh
