Need a clutch to hold up to 1300ftlbs.

Looking for info on those of you running twin discs clutches. The South Bend FE isn't holding on the dyno anymore. I need a clutch that will hold upwards of 1300ftlbs on the street and the dyno. It won't ever hook to the sled or race. I plan to stick to the getrag with it's small input shaft.

Currently the FE is on the floor in the shop, the getrag is torn down waiting on parts from Zbag.

I'm not against a mean single disc button if it will hold. Looking for input from here before calling SBC this week. Thanks.

Go with a kenny's! Cheaper then a sbc and just as good in my opinion. My getrag loves it. Im running a 3600lb pressure plate and 12cb disks. It'll do a pretty mean 3rd gear launch.

I have a SBC 3250 dual disc. 12 button per side. It is a sprung hub, but it is not all springs, it has little chunks of some special rubber in there and a couple springs. Also it has a diaphram style pressure plate. This is their most streetable dual disc. I can't get mine to slip at all, but I have half the power you do. I got it so I could do my twins and edms if I wanted and never worry. The pedal pressure is actually a little less than the stock sachs was. It is a really tight fit in the bell housing. The fork is about 1/8 from the pressure plate, but it does fit. If I was planning on running 1300 ftlbs I would definitely be looking at a 3600 or 3850 just so I was sure it would never give me trouble. Definitely happy with it, and Peter at southbend is great guy to deal with.

Yup, talk to Peter. SBC customer service is above and beyond. My little 3250 has handled many 30psi 2wd launches with 3.54's and 35's and that thing just grabs and obliterates the tires like it's not even trying I would go bigger with the numbers you're making though. Peter will steer you right. Oh, congrats on the dyno #'s, Bill
