ok guys i posted a tranny problem thred earlier now the advice i need is that i found a donor truck its a 93 ext cab 4x4 auto with od is that the same tranny as me im pretty sure yes for you guys with good memory its the same i foud this winter the guy dropped the price a bit is there anything i shoud check on tranny guy said he rebuilt i about 3years ago he uses it to haul wood on his farm now body too bad for road he said he put around 4grand in tranny of course its at the dealer i did not believe him so his gona find the receips he said only thing rong with tranny is lever is hard to change tranny is supposed to work fine maybe rod is just rusted he doesnt use it often

im going there tomorow to check it out so i need advice fast on what to watch out for

 

From what I have read in DTR, there are two autos that were used in the '93 ctd's. One was the A518 which is basically the 727 with a non-lockup torque converter and an overdrive installed where the tailshaft housing was located and the A618 which is the same but has a lockup torque converter. The A618 designation changed in 1994. There is a thread somewhere in here that has all the newer designations in there and the differences between model years.

 

the tranny is in works good
