Napa brake cables
Napa brake cables
I have a EGR disk conversion on my truck and the old E cables crapped the bed last summer so I ordered new ones from NAPA. I go to put them on and they are too short.. by like 24 inches. That's end of cable to end of cable the casing seems right! When you put the cables on with the conversion you need to get rid of the spring between the backing plate mount and the ball end. When you do that you gain about 8 inches of cable.. still to short. I still need 14inches of cable
So I checked the length .. Right side..95 3/8.. that's correct!
So I placed the cable in the same location as if it had drums still and there is no way these are long enough. So today I ordered an extended cab (I have a standard cab) front cable hoping that it's going to be long enough. I only checked the right side tommorrow I'll check the left!! anyone have problems with this?? Either drum or disk conversion??

I bought new e-brake cables from JC Whitney for my 84 D350 Crewcab, from drums to driver side frame. ...I used a 93 D350 to order them though. They were Raybestos cables and I had no problems....other then one cable was assembled backwards.
I'll go see if I can find the invoice and the part numbers....

I had the # double checked and of course the NAPA guy was like clueless about what i was saying.. I ordered the extended cab front cable in hopes that it's long enough. I'll post the out come when i find it!!
